Dr. Emily Thomson completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of California Los Angeles and received her medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California. She went on to perform her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Summa Health System, Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio. She was the recipient of the John Karlen MD Excellence in Surgery Award. Her prior professional experience includes private group practices in Canton, Ohio and Norfolk, Virginia.
Her interests lie in providing compassionate care for women during their pregnancy as well as gynecologic care utilizing minimally invasive procedures including the DaVinci Robotic Surgical System, and conventional laparoscopy. Dr. Thomson has participated in several research studies and given numerous medical presentations. Dr. Thomson is involved in leadership positions and committees in the hospitals she is currently affiliated with. She is an active Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
