Kari Gaskins is a certified nurse midwife and women’s health nurse practitioner with a deep passion for midwifery and for supporting women through every stage of life. She believes in care that is personal and collaborative, with a strong focus on prevention. She takes pride in helping her patients feel informed, heard, and confident in their care.

Kari’s career in nursing spans more than 25 years. She began as a vocational nurse and went on to spend years as a labor and delivery nurse at Desert Regional Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente Riverside. She earned her Associate of Science in Nursing from College of the Desert, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University, and her Master of Science in Midwifery/Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from San Diego State University.

Kari now cares for patients at Temecula Valley Ob/Gyn. Before joining the practice, she spent nearly a decade as a certified nurse midwife at Kaiser Permanente Riverside, where she delivered approximately 1,200 babies. She provides prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care, and has extensive experience as a first assist in cesarean births. Her gynecologic care covers patients from their teen years through menopause, including annual exams, contraceptive counseling, IUD and Nexplanon placement and removal, and endometrial biopsies. Kari has also precepted student nurse midwives and mentored family practice residents, sharing her experience with the next generation of providers.

Outside of work, Kari is a proud mom.
